clarion 578....

got my clarion 578 installed today all done properly for a change, im now trying to get my iphone to play through it it has ipod connection via a usb and also an aux input that comes from the back and sticks out by the usb. i understand it may not recognise the iphone as an ipod and be able to use the on screen navigation of the music. but the aux dosnt work either? is it a video aux by any chance. im using a belkin cable that im sure is fine
any help?

A simple Line in Cable ( 3.5 jack) is all you need for AUX in, However
When you connect your iphone to the Headunit, it should display a similar screen to what is displayed when it is being synced with the PC
I know my ipod somtimes does not do this with my headunit and just charges via the Headunit

To cancle this, I have to reset the ipod, is there a reset for the iphone?

well when i connect my iphone it just jeeps making the sync noise with not change in the scree. the screen on the HU changes as it knows a usb device has been connected but nothing happens it just keeps making the sync noise. aswell with the aux cable it just dosnt work at all no sound at all faulty maybe?

just looking at the spec for the 588 model it says that it has a AUX AV cable. iirc arent i after AUX stereo input?

managed to sort it used a red and white - 3,5 mm and used the av in plugs at the back ( just the red and white ones) still strange how the factory aux cable didnt work
