View Full Version : Classic Insurance
How old does the car have to be to qualify?
I remember a friend of a friend having a 205 GTI on classic insurance and it was stupidy cheap for a 18 year old.
Can anyone help me out ??
dont you need to just prove its a classic? if it was an old wrecker 205 worth £100 you wont get classic insurance, but if its concourse spec gti i imagine they'd cover it easily. maybe its at their discretion

Tbh i dont have a clue how they judge it.
I thought it was all based on age

Most of them, dont you go through a kinda classic cars owners club kinda thing? and then you get it cheaper or something?
Engldslegh say classic car insurance is for pre 1980 cars
But the first 205 was produced in 1983 so i dont think it will work :(
I think ile jump on a 205 forum and see what can be done

i imagine the mileage limit is going to be in the hundreds rather than the thousands

Some places do it for cars over 10 years old, but you need to be >21..
I looked at it with my old car, but as said, it has to be standard and its limited miles
