I've found a car I want to buy that ticks all the boxes & is for a very cheap price... there's outstanding finance on it tho! How can I get around this??
I'm not a big risk taker so I would prefer a nice & safe option if possible & don't want to rely on the seller paying it off!
I searched the forum & found nothing that help.
Searched on google & found alot of responses telling the buyer to give the car a miss.
Help?????

Find out who the finance is with, and contact them.
Get the owner to pay it off.
Or, you pay it off and deduct that amount from what you give the seller. But making sure that you get the V5 and a confirmation letter from the finance company.
Then change either your avatar or sig, having both animated ftl.

To clarify the situation the seller can't settle it himself...
I know i'll be paying the seller the difference in cash & the rest to the finance company already.
Contacting the finance company is easier said than done with data protection act & all that nowadays.
Can I settle it immediatly with the seller passing the phone over to me, can it be done online or through cheque etc... These are the things I'm wanting to know.
Really looking for someone thats had personal experience of this tbh.
Av & sig stay for now.
The sig will be changed on Friday inline with a wee wager ending so don't worry yerself Tonya!

I'm trying!
Don't seem to be getting anywhere with it just now tho, hopefully give this thread a wee bit of time & I'll hopefully get some guidance.

Avoid personally.
but ring the finance company up, they technically own the car they're the ones you should be dealing with.

surely just try and pay it over the phone? if the person who has the finance agrees on the phone for them to speak to u then it should be fine for you to do so aslong as you are with him/her at the time...
