The facts are on the board next to the car, it was a campaign against
mobile phones and seatbelts i think...

Pisses me off when i see people on their phones whilst driving. So many people have lost their lives because of selfish wankers who are too important to pull over to use their phone.

i think the NCAP ratings are given out according to the size and type of car. so 2 stars really is catastrophic.

looks about right for 46mph to me.

it is pretty bad, and i did say myself that surely there would be blood everywhere which they may have cleared...

Was just about to say that... ive been in a car with a mate when he was driving, he smoked dropped his fag in his door bin went to get it and we were on the other side of the road, nothing was coming thank god but if it was!

it was a 106 aswell, just as bad!

Not at all. But you can clean blood up, which was the point I was making. Heck the car seems very clean if it crashed that badly.

probably exagerated or staged as an example of what the emergency services have seen but its cocks like these that got mobile phones banned in the 1st place. what twat does 46mph in a 30 while texting or without being on the phone even. ill be the 1st to admit i use my mobile while driving for talking or sending extremely short texts like "on way" etc but i never stare at my phone i can feel the buttons to know what im typing and itll be a reply to somone. if its a long text i wont even bother reading it. and while talking on the phone im concentrating on the road alot more than what i am when im driving without.

everyone gets labeled for using a phone but its not fair when its arseholes that cant drive in the 1st place that cause accidents while doing it. sneezing or fiddling with a sat navs no different and they are perfectly legal so long as your not swerving all over the road.

the law hasnt even made a difference against them either how many people do you see day in day out on a phone no different than before, some arsehole with a cyborg piece on his ear nearly crashed into our car the other week what was his excuse he wasnt even on the phone or speaking into his piece or even speeding so what campagin could they of ran for that crash, nothing. driver testings the only way to get bad drivers off the road and put an end to blaming majority of crashes on speed/on mobile/eating while driving, ive always said its bad drivers that kill not anything else its down to that paticular driver just being shit, yea sure your never going to stop deaths but wed start to see some truth in figures and not ones biased into putting money in the governments kitty. but then if you took the bad drivers off the road youll find all these so called "little nob head" 17-25 yearold "boyracers" will be the only ones passing their tests again, funny that when theres a constant campeign against us causing most of the accidents.

i drove past my local fire station once, they have a CRX against a tree to make it look like it crashed there.. was allready a right off but i saw the fire men with sledge hammers etc destroying it even more lol

fergs spot on, and i think far too much is focused on what the driver was doing at the time of an accident, more concentration should be on the drivers who before hand were probably driving appaulingly even just driving normal before the day they killed somone.

we could go on all day about preventing deaths and we could all just live in a house and not go anywhere and have plastic knives and forks.

its as rediculous as banning violent video games and films because certain members of our society who already should of been locked up and have previously got away with offences go out and stab people then blame it on grand theft auto.

on this occassion i dont mind something being put in a town centre its not been forced down anyone you look at it and take note, not a problem and its hard hitting what i dont like is everyones generalisation after theyve seen stuff like that everyone seems to be brainwashed into "thats naughty lets tell tales because that person is bad because they are breaking the law".

too many people believe the madeup statistics, when they arnt even correct.

also the idea of me buying my saxo was that it cut all the bullshit that my other cars had on i dont like all the safety features, sure in a crash id rather be in my vectra c but if i had gone on the pics id seen previously of squashed saxos i wouldnt of dared buy one but that was half the reason for buying the car was the fun factor you cant have it all.

That first car looks like it has been in a crash whether 'staged' or not.

But for me its not the point, it reminds me to take more care and pay even more attention.

Plus these threads always make me get on NCAP and look in to buying a safer car.

The Saxo rating was based on a 1.1 800kgs model but it scored higher than a BMW 316i of the same year! Saxo 13, BMW 10 (1 and a half stars).

i think if you loose control in a saxo youve a better chance of survival if you jump out the car quick lol. on a more serious note it does worry me a bit that my sister drives a 106 but it was better than her 1st choice a nova.

ive been in a nova thats rolled and come out fine. my mate has rolled 3 ax's and only had a scratch , lucky i guess.

and to do with the seat belts, its not ALWAYS best to wear 1. my sis died when she crashed her ka a few weeks ago, the lad in the passenger seat would have been dead if he had his seat belt on, luckily he got flung out the car.

i do think that it depends on the scenario...in some cases it is safer to not wear them so you do get flung from the car..in most other cases it is not..
