So its just over a year with the Alfa and although the old girl is in pretty good order I just feel the Alfa scene is alittle too .... Grown up lol

So Im planning to move on maybe latter this year. I wont go into too many detail on what Im looking at as to be honest I aint made my mind up :p

I got £3000 hard cold cash and I reckon £1000 in the Alfa (maybe)

But out of complete interest where would you place your money? What would you go for?

No really I dont, unless its at the higher end of the market, budget JC is not for me, I dont like the styling etc...

Id happily have a V-spec R34 but thats not a £4K car ;)

Funny, already looked into them but although they are better looking than say a Skyline or GTO but inside they look like a 70's kit car :p honest check one out.

Mk3 with pop up headlights FTW if your looking at Supras

Hmmmm 172 not sure I want to go that small again. I like coupes although they do kinda come with a stigma of mid-life crisis say like Celica's, Preludes, Cougar's (been there done that) 406's and other coupes.

Ive always liked the look of Clio sports personally..but insurance is alot more than a vtr so i went for that for a couple of years at least to get some no claims built up.

Or Civic type r's are nice too

E46, something like this. (http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1058700.htm)

But I would maybe save up a bit more and get a diesel as I imagine 325s and 328s to be thirsty.

Jumping on the clio-p bang wagon seems pretty sensible but iff you dont want something like that then that beemer looks very very tempting.

test drove all three.. in my opinion

v5>gt tdi150>gti 1.8t... as a driving experience.. in terms of economy the v5 was at the other end

I swear the golf 1.8 gtis are only 150bhp, and they're not that fast tbh.

Around that for standard yes. They're not amazingly fast, but they're quick and they'll leave a VTS no problem.

26th May 2009, 23:22
150hp golf wont be leaving a VTS no problem.. with a 8.2 0-60 and a top speed of 134. Maybe the anni modle would fair better at 7.6 seconds and 138 but they cost a fair bit for one in good nick and would proberly be on par with the vts! But they are very good cars, and the 1.8t is a good engine.

VTS_16v_Boy
27th May 2009, 10:49
Well there has been some interesting suggestions but I think personally Id steer clear of Golfs Mk5's anyway - Far to common, very boring interior and just doesnt float my boat to be honest. Same with the Seats, just do nothing for me at all.

As for the Cilo, when I had my VTS, they where very tempting but after having a Saloon and the missis having a current shape Micra I dont think I could go that small again to be honest.

Like I mentioned I think Im after a 2door coupe but as to which or what Im not quite sure lol

I wouldnt touch a Fiat if it was given to me lol

Never been a fan of them, heard mixed reviews about them but never actually talked face to face with a owner.

Would you have one?

i would go for a 95 civic coupe rip the engine out n turbo a 2.2 prelude engine get maybe 350bhp for 4 grand n a nice set o springs n dampers to drop it to the ground and alloys maybe a spoiler to push the arse down for cornering n just leave it as a sleeper dats getin 0-60 in wat 5 sec n does 165 if not more you aint gona get faster for less

MR2 twin turbo (very fun to drive and fast)
Skyline (very fast a bit fuel consuming)

no contest build quality and engineering can't be beaten. everything is spot on, also you wont get anything else that will give you as much fun for you money than them two.
