Is anyone on here have a job as a car valeter?
If so, what do you think of the job? Good/Crap/Easy/Boring?
Also, whats the pay like e.g. do you get paid more for every car you do on top of what you get paid?

It's hard work, you need to get a great portfolio before you earn any 'real' money!! Very rewarding tho :y:

watching how my cousin does it looks a bastard to make a wage. if you can make money out of it itd be an awesome job but the problems all the polish car washes dotted out everywhere, my cousin and his mate have a unit in burntwood its a loverly spot but i think you need to be super fast,do an excellent job and have a constant supply of cars to do throughout the day. ive give them a help in hand and love every minute of it but you need to do alot of 3.50 washes to make it worth while hoovering cars out takes more time again. if you could do a few full 50 pound valets a day youd be laughing but i dont know how hard it is to get that sort of buisness.

if you fancy it and are a bit of a blagger you need to look at a bigger picture and hit all the car showrooms,tax ranks etc and give them a demonstation do a few for free.

but yea its nice work if you can get it to pay you nicely.

3.50 thats cheap for a full wash most round here are 6pound a car now

Cheers guys. Might apply for a local valeting place, its in a mall carpark so theres always people dropping their cars off, having it cleaned while they go shopping.

i get an hourly rate which in a way is bad because i cant earn anymore money but its good because i get paid the same even if were really quiet. i really enjoy it thats why ive stuck with it even though the pay isnt brilliant but i get to do alot of driving aswell which breaks the day up a bit

Ah ok. How many cars do you valet a day on a good day and how long does it take you to do each one roughly?
