Whats the difference in spacers.....hubcentric and none hubcentric?
am i right in saying hubcentric bolt onto the hub, and the wheel bolts onto the spacer, whereas the other type just go between the hub and the wheel and you use longer wheel nuts?
and why do some have lots of holes which are random shapes like this:
are the ones below where you use longer wheel nuts?

and

and is this then hubcentric?

Await for me to be corrected.
But I thought Hubcentric spacers have the lip around the inner hole so the wheel can sit over.
The random holes are universal spacers so you can use them on different fitment wheels (4x100, 4x108 etc etc)
You need longer bolts with anything over about 5mm really.

ohhh that would make sense, as it means the wheel is like centred around the hub.
sureley you dont need longer bolts with the spacers like in my last picture as the standard bolts go into the spacer instead of the hub, and the other bolts which attatch the spacer to the hub come with the spacer?
also in the top 2 i dont see how the nuts would sit flush as there is no indent for the head of the nut to go into?........is this because the top 2 use longer nuts whereas the bottom one just bolts onto the hub?

The last ones wouldn't need longer bolts as they bolt into the spacer rather than through the spacer and into the hub.
The top two sit between the wheel and the hub and just use longer bolts so the bolt goes through the wheel, the spacer and into the hub.

i wouldn't ever use the first two pairs on my car. they don't support the bolts in any way.

Its my understanding that hubcentric are a brand rather than a style.
I have seen spacers the same as your top pic which are claimed to be made by hubcentric.
People do assume the bottom type of spacer when the hubcentric name is mentioned.
Could be wrong though.

although the top and bottom picture both have that lip around the centre, which the 2nd pic doesnt. so maybe thats why they're "hubcentric"

people use hubcentric ones cus its not as safe having longer wheels bolts, i do a motorsport degree at oxford brookes uni and i learnt that in my auto lab's but unless u have massive spacers like on this civic

then it shouldnt matter i just have normal spacers with longer bolts but say if u used really really long bolts like that civic would need then it would be very unsafe so he used hubcentric ones
