On Vista by any chance?
I used to get a really weird error with my MSN, so I switched to using Trillian until I formatted recently, now MSN works again.. lol.
Yes Vista, Error Code 8100030d
Iv'e tried downloading an older one but it says I have the newer one and until a delete the older one I cant download (Confusing I know!)..So I go to Add/Remove programs and it's not there..Wtf!!?!?!?!??!

May sound odd.. but if its not appearing in your Add/Remove, i would try installing the new version again and this may make it appear in your list of programs where you can then uninstall it. Then you can install an older one?

its your temp files and registry keys, type "Windows Live Messenger Error Code 8100030d" in google/yahoo. There's loads of sites that will help you solve it :)
