Hey I noticed this when I was cleaning my mums car a few weeks ago, there is a really rough patch in the paintwork above the drivers side rear wheel.
At first I thought it was just sap from the trees but when I cleaned it, it didn't come off. Iv cleaned the car a few times since and its still there and Iv tried using AG tar remover and no luck..
Could this be Lacquer peel?? The paint doesn't look any different like.
Its a 55 Plate Toyota Aygo in Ice Blue (exactly the same as Icelandic Grey)
Any input appreciated.
Thanks Matty.

Overspray from the factory most likely or just contaminants.
Get an abrasive clay bar on it then get somone to cut it out using a DA and cutting pad.

It doesn't really look any different to the rest of the paint, just is very textured and has a rough feel to it.
Cheers JoeHow12.. never really thought to clay bar it, I dont have one but I want to buy one anyway so perfect excuse to get into claying.

possibly, I dont really want to though incase it goes wrong. car is only a few years old..
I may have to take it up to NE detailing or something and see what they think.

it is very possibly overspray by the factory to cover up a mark.

does it look really orange peeley?
reason i ask is most toyotas have a stone chip finish on the bottom 6" of the car, its just tougher to prevent chips

Not really.. I can't see anything like orange peel. Its rather strange.

The bodywork should have a 6 year+ warranty shouldnt it? Although the manufacturers dodge this by stipulating it has to be checked by them once a year.... worth thinking about though.

I shall try and get a picture, but like iv said before it doesn't really look any different. due to the light colour of the car. But i'll try and get one tomorrow.

It might of had a lil chip/scratch, and they have just blown that part in(smart repair). If so, when you wet sand it you will go through and need to get it painted again. Get a pic up before you try anything.
