I have a small problem lol. I've got a furio and am only 17, on perants insurance for now and it states only 3 mods
well i have:
Wheels (declared)
Induction kit (declared)
Buckets + Vtr rears (not)
and then small things like badges and gear knob pedals etc
But i have a Spax lowering kit to go on which i will declare but thats my 3 mods up and i have a dimma show cage in the post and a back box or full system to come very soon, shall i just not declare all my interior mods and the exhaust... or what?
Suggestions please smileys/smiley4.gif

Tell them that u removed the filter coz that aint really a big mod that shuld give u 1 mod back. Wuld tel them bout the suspension tho, my insurance comp said that if i lowered my VTS and neva told them then if i needed a claim it wuld be voided! hope this helps, who u insured wiv anyway?

take the risk? If you modify teh car in anyway they have the right to declare your insurance null and void. So if you hit the neighbours 30k beemer then your footing the bill.

look mate you'd better declare ALL mods, like scott says if they find one tiny thing different on your car that you didnt tell them about when they come to inspect the car as a result of a claim (fingers crossed this dont happen), even if it was undamaged or had nothing to do with the accident or whatever, then they will not pay out anything. your choice. thing is if your not going to tell them about the other mods, then there no point in telling them 3, ud get a cheaper quote that way, but you'd essentially be uncovered smileys/smiley5.gif

i'm just lookin for quotes now, i'm 18 with 1 yr ncb, an i'm struglin. bets quote i've had was elephant which was not far off £1800 with everything declared. my first year i paid £2300 for a 1.2 corsa, so £3k isn't bad for a vtr
Jimbo
15th December 2005, 01:27

wasn't mate, that was cheapest by far, because the car was kitted, allots etc. most insurance companies wouldn't touch me. A know people around where i live who have just past there test paying around £2k to insure standard 1.2 corsa's
Jimbo
15th December 2005, 01:53
ah if it was fully kitted n stuff...

I would of thought that you can have 3 mods and then anythin you tell them about after that will put your premium up? should just ask them the question, say you are thinking about doing some mods and how will it affect your insurance!

19th December 2005, 03:58
Nah dont have a pulsar... smileys/smiley5.gif I'm insured with quinn-direct theyre an Irish company that insure UK cars. I struggled like hell 2 find any company based in the UK to insure me for under £4000!!! bunch of robbing b4stards. I was convinced at first they had it wrong coz it seemed 2 good 2 be true but its all sweet! smileys/smiley14.gif

I would declare all mods m8, I know some mods don't impact your premium anyways but they need to be declared otherwise your insurance is void. I just renewed mine and declared my lights and grill and it didn't change my premium smileys/smiley17.gif

If you don't declare your mods then you are not insured so you are just wasting your money in the event of an accident
Why don't you just leave it as it is for a year then do more to it then? it should be cheaper as you have more driving experience and you're older

i would declare if i could, yuo see im only allowed 3 mods and iv used them up once its lowered, and iv got an exhaust on the way, i think im going to put the air box back to standard, but then I've still got the buckets and vtrs back seats n ICE n stuff.... I really can't handle not having her the way i want her for a year so it looks like i'll just have to shop around a little more smileys/smiley19.gif
I'm def going to give that Quinn direct a call! what mods do you have Blackvts? and whats their number please? smileys/smiley14.gif
