Problem with factory head unit..

Hey guys,

Having a problem installing the original, factory Clarion CD player in the car. Bought it off eBay as an upgrade to the tape deck. (Am using the factory one as both my previous cars have had aftermarket ones stolen from them).

Now the previous deck's memory was fine, but on the newer Clarion, every time the ignition is switched off for more than a few seconds it needs the code re-entering.I assume I'm entering the code correctly - is there a keypress after entering the code required to save the code?

Seem to remember reading something a while back about the memory backup (yellow?) wire being crossed with another on the Saxo and a converter being available. Would this solve my issues? If so, what is the converter be that I would need?

you could rewire the standard loom but the converter is the vauxhall wiring loom seem to remember it being part number pc2-4-04 or something like that from halfords
