I bought some 50mm G-max springs for my car a few months back, they have be fine realy, wasnt much of an improvement in the handling. but then i got the rear lowerd 70 now it sits uneven and lower at the back, looks abit shit really. i want the front lower but dont wona pay £300+ for coilovers. At the moment im on standard shocks which isnt so good so basically im wanting to get the car lower, on a better suspension setup, i will be buying some new dampers as ive been offerd some good ones for cheap. but anybody used these?

are they cheap and uber soft to allow the drop or are they good springs?

or what other options have i got to get the front down at least 70mm ? ive read about the raceland coilovers and they dont sound so good.

i say get you'r self some Bilstein B6 Ferme shocks or B8's the french rave about them all the time for saxo's they should work with -70 springs to.
they don't really cost much either think you could get 4 shocks for about 300 quid if that
it's what i'm going to be using on my furio when i get a bit of spare cash !

why not adjust the rear to even it out? And if its handling you want, people always say 40-50mm is best for handling

it handles really really well at the moment, and i want it to be low, thinking of going for the euro look on itover the next 6 months

70mm springs will be way to short and soft. 60mm is the limit length wise on springs. If you wanna go very low you will need coilovers.

ideally if you go any lower than 40/50mm you should change your dampers aswell.

if your looking to go low low then you defo need coilovers! they are worth the money though.

if your going as low as 70 then coilovers are a must, aswell i would seriously think about getting adjustable suspension arms and poly bushes etc etc

bin looking abit more, seems that 70mm isnt going to be a reality for my budget, theres a set on ebay of blisten gas shocks for front and rear and a set of 60mm springs that are in my price range. cant bring myself to buy coilovers for a 1.1 lol

Careful with those though mate, theyre OE replacement Bilsteins, not shortned shocks.

coilovers can be built for bout 300 mate. if its the blistein shocks that are black then they will be no good at 60mm either.

well whatever they are, if your going that low you need to uprate most of the suspension elements, not just springs and shocks

Dont Springs for VT models lower 10mm more anyway on a flatarch? Could just get some 60mm VT springs which would take flatarch to 70mm?

No- they only perceive to be lower purely because of the weight differences of the models hence weighing it down more

Furio/Westcoast/VTR models of course have 2 extra front arches and a heavier bumper than the flat arched models

The VTS will appear to be even lower due to it having a much heavier engine, along with PAS, ABS components amongst other things

There will be little/no difference between the actual springs so it wont make a blind bit of difference what you buy really.

If you're going down 70mm the springs will either need to be ridiculously soft and handling will be shite, or the springs will be very very short for which you will NEED shorter dampers really for safety.

You'd need to be looking at coilovers definately if you want any lower than 60mm as people have already said
