headunit doesnt power with ignition

I had a pioneer headunit which turned on when i started the car or put the ignition on ( like normal ) swapped it for a little dvd screen headunit and it doesnt power up when i turn the ignition on so i have to turn it on everytime i get in the car .... Anyone know how to have power with the igniton to the headunit?

iirc there would be a red wire and a yellow wire going in the wireing harness of the stereo , one of them is the ignition live and the other is the permanent live (for storing memory, radio stations, EQ settings crap like that)
try giving these two wire a swap round, eg. red to yellow, yellow to red,
normally that solves the trick. and you will be able to use the ignition to turn it on.
