surely the 1.1 gearobx isnt going to last long at all. if you want the acceleration then rally is the way forward

It's a diferent diff size to the 'sports' boxes.
smaller diff and doesnt use a sports cluster.
I personally wouldnt be using one
personally S1 boxes are out of question due to the price, so XSi/S2 or a derv box are the ones I am thinking about

i put a 1.4 box in my vts, wouldnt go for a 1.1 myself, my box is quicker off mark than it was before but still got 120mph with more in it!

1.4box off what?
1.1 even though shit, is basically the same as an S box as in terms of acceleration and top end speed.

Why a derv box? its as shit as a vtr box.

Got a 1.1 box on mine at the moment, the ratios are almost identical, for a temp / cheapo box the car will drive fine.

But due to the way the gearing is will have different rev drops.

never noticed a difference with the few i had.... They didnt last long, synchros lasted about a week....
Was when i had the carry on with teh pikeys sending me 1.1 boxes instead of a VTS box :D

top end? i worked out diff and revs and 1.1 would be around 119mph tops

there is a thread somewhere with the speeds in what gear for what box etc.
just under 80mph was 4,000 rpm which is more or less the same as a vts box.
Would never go out my way to stick a 1.1 box on a VTS i only did it as some pikey sold me the wrong box.

Only real difference is 4th, which is about 5-6mph shorter than the vts box, 5th is slightly longer on the 1.1 box

it was off a 106 quiksilver! it really isnt bad, raced my mates honder civic Jordan (cammed) 160bhp and only pulled one car length on me. quite happy!

1.4box off a quicksilver would make acceleration worse iirc.......
sure its the same as a furio/west coast box?
1.4xsi box would make it accelerate quicker.
Those jordans are not that quick anyway are they?
Sure they are slower on paper then a VTS?
