I'm about 65mm at the moment and want to go lower but on a very tight budget. all the coilover kits I've seen only say up to 65mm....is this true??? what kit can I get that will drop it up to 120mm? I know what I'm letting myself into before all the mr sensibles tell me I cant go over speed bumps.lol. I really do want it on the floor!

Most coilover kits for the saxo dont go much below 70mm, some do go down to 90mm but its the VMaxx/Raceland jobbies that are garbo.

If your really serious about going 120mm on the front then i'd look into hydraulic suspension so you can lower/raise to suit wherever you're driving.

i am 60 and i dare not to go any lower tbh.

i cannot see it handeling anywhere near as good much lower, but i might be wrong.

as Joshy says, anything after 60mm is pooh springs and dampers

lee_vtr1 was very very low, as in 90mm plus and his car handled awesome!

with the right set up you can slam your car and still handle well.

yes thats the raceland/vmaxx coilovers that you need to modify to go lower which in all fairness is not 100% safe imo.

you should just pay that bit extra to get a better kit but each to their own.

i know from my own experience of buying a cheap kit before.

ok sorry didnt relise i have to agree with you if your going to mod your car there is no point doing it on the cheap side tbh

as with cars if it can go wrong it will go wrong and you get what you pay for

DO NOT USE THE GUIDE!

if your going to go very low just do research on building your own coilover kit. will be the same price as doing the UNSAFE guide!

suspension is one of the main aspects of a car which makes it either safe or unsafe. Buy good stuff. if you buy cheap crap you will only end up swapping it again when your unhappy with it.

As said above Lee_vtr1 is the man you need to talk to about going loooowwwwwwwww

what kit did you use??

i started off with vmaxx coilovers.

they didnt go low enough so ive now got faulkner springs, pugsport top mounts and different adjusters aswell.

ill be buying new dampers soon, prob pugsport or bilstein.

custom is best way to be honest.

yea i thought the big red writing was a good touch. Custom coilovers is the way forward for saxo/106.

the thread ur refering to will be getting adjusted once i find some time to do it, there are much much better ways of being low, unfortunatly many of them involve removing helper springs, which can be regarded as unsafe equaly but if you can get some super short dampers or machine some down short enough so the spring never comes loose then itll be perfectly fine.

the only kit i recommend is the pug sport grp n using a 3' dia spring.
