As of next month i hope to purchase a VTS. With regards to insurance, i am 18 and will have 1yr NCB. I know it will be costly, but is there anyone who has any company recommendations, or have also insured a VTS in the same circumstances?
My other question regards named drivers. If i were to put my mum and dad as named drivers on the policy but under my name does this bring the cost down considerably? and can they still have there policies they already have and be unaffected if i were to crash for example?
Thanks in advance :y:

I am 19 ive had a crash resulted in being split 50-50. I have 1ncb, i am the named driver and have added my gf on as a 2nd driver. I am with admiral and fully comp, am paying £1700, I think that is a decent price

Yes, adding your rents as named drivers will help.
Cheapest for me at 19 was Bell. Then elephant, then admiral.
The rest were pushing their luck to be honest.

Im finding admiral is the cheapest by far. And yes putting mum and dad as named drivers brought it down alot. Im 18 with 1 years ncb and ive been getting quotes from admiral for a vts for £1,100. cant complain with that price really.

Ok, thanks for the replies. Does having them as named drivers not affect any other policies they have? Or does it affect them if I was to have an accident?

no it doesnt affect their policy at all, if you have a crash it will still come out from your insurance, and same if they crash!

Martyn Lukowski (sp)? I'm good thanks yourself? Well I fancy something a bit quicker and subtle so I'm looking into a VTS so I'll be selling the corsa as of next month. You driving yet?

Hmm, although I have never been a named driver on anything but my own insurance policies, I believe if you want to collect your own personal NCB, this does vary depending on the company you next insure with.
Some will, some won't but in the most part, they do have the option of 'Named' driver when getting a policy with them.
Hope this helps

you need to be careful adding other named drivers, because some companies wont let you use NCB in two policies, so your parents also have 0NCB, and it just brings the price up... Quinn do that
