Right, had a small knock for a while but recently it has got very bad and as im on track on Sunday want it done! It sounds like an arb droplink, so I put it over the pit today at work and checked them, no movement, checked the lower arm bushes, and balljoint, nothing, wheels have no play side to side or up and down!

Not sure what it can be now? Maybe gearbox mount or strut top mounts? Does it when driving normally on bumpy roads and sounds just like an arb!

nah not track rods, as i said, there is no play anywhere.

as for shockers?? hmm, where abouts you having problems? i have bilstein b8s. there are no signs of them leaking

could be the colors holding the insert into the strut, could be the strut retaining nut on the top of the top mount loose.

after that, could be fucked drop links.

I had exactly the same problem and it was the rods that connect onto the anti-roll bars. Was a pretty cheap fix really, rods cost about £30. I could be wrong thou. :P
