hello guys...

i say it's time for me to put ICE in my xsara. now, i need some help from you smileys/smiley9.gif

now, the help i need is with these few questions:
1. how big ANL fuse should i use (there shoul be a 60A fuse on steg, but there isn't any). do i use a 60A or 80A one?

2. will i have problems with car electronics when i disconnect the battery?

3. do you recommend me to install 2 new wires for power supply of HU, or do i use the factory ones?

4. about sound deadening, what parts do you recommend? i was thinking of front, rear doors and boot door, boot floor and sides, and front arches

please help me asap because i'll be getting into this installation in the next week

if you have any other recommendations, dont be shy

1. Use the rated, it most likely would be fine with larger but you may find it will run very hot with the extra current and it could blow some components.

2. you will loose clock settings, you shouldnt have any other issues.

3. Hmmm wouldnt do any harm, if doing that then do earth to preferably with slightly thicker wire to the same earthing point as the amp to minimise chances of interference

4. Sounds spot on what you have, you could go uber hardcore and do 2 layers and the whole floorsmileys/smiley17.gif

1. i'm talking about the fuse near the battery. the one on the amp isn't there at all. they didnt even leave the place to plug it in smileys/smiley5.gif

4. i dont know about 2 layers, i dont know how much space i will have. i'm worried that the door panels won't sit tight in their places. i could go 2 layers on the boot floor and arches. i'm going to use brown bread, so the price and quantity really isn't an issue smileys/smiley2.gif

i hope i'll remember to take the camera and take some pictures of the progress

1. There isnt one smileys/smiley5.gif erm fuck knows then i would normally rate that fuse as a combined total of all the other fuses running off the cable. Hmmm

it's done. i've bought almost everything. have to buy only brown bread, and tweeter cables.

i'll post some pics of the whole equipment that's going in the car

i've bought 100A fuse, and 35 square mm cable, and costed me 25 quid (together) smileys/smiley4.gif

i'll post some pics of the progress later, tomorrow probably. we deadened the front doors (inner and outer skin), and pulled all the cables.

we are installing ICE in a renault 5 aswell so my car is 2nd in the line...

i want to ask you something, a little help
here's the thing
yesterday we disconnected the battery to change the terminal on the + pole. later when i re-connected it everything seemed fine. when i got home and tried to lock it with remote locking system (or alarm, i dont know) it wasnt working. central locking is working, but not remote.

i think it could be that i only need to turn it on in it's ECU. i checked the fuses and they're all fine.
i'll go to the mechanic tomorrow and connect it on their computer
