right got the new sub, did the AA battery test and it made a sound. so far so good!

go to wire it up to the amp and nothing is happening!

tested the sub with a digital volt meter and could not get a resistance reading from it but it still crackles when wired to an AA battery

also tested the amp power with the digi meter and even with the fuse out of the battery terminal the amp was showing 12.5V between the battery and ground terminal on the amp

have you forgotten the remote wire? if you think theres something wrong with your sub, test to see if electric can go from one terminal to the other (it should be able to), use an LED and battery or something to test.

sorted, was a setting on the HU that had gone off after the removal of the car battery!
