For those of you with stripped cars/track slags;
what do you do to entertain yourself if you dont have a stereo. im contemplating selling my audio and building a fast road/track car with literally two seats, harnesses and carbon fibre inside, no stereo.
Im thinking ipod on long journey's, how do you cope with no audio?

you can have a fairly stripped car and still keep the stereo :)

Just leave the headunit and 2 front speakers in. Take everything else off.

im a complete sq/bass head, id rather have no stereo at all than just a headunit and some door speakers, dont think i could go from a Morel setup to just a head unit.
Going to invest in a home audio set up insted.

Speed Wank.

You get used to it after a while and your not bothered about having a radio. Even when you do you can hardly hear it.

very good point ryan, its going to be standard inlet for a while then maybe bring on the trumpets or stroker kit or boost, everything is up in the air at the minute

on a serious note, on the way back from the ring we had to use my laptop for music.

Unless its a dedicated track car I see no point in not keeping a HU and 2 speakers.

Infact unless its a dedicated track car I dont see why all the cool kids strip their cars.

it would upset me to listen to music on two crappy door speakers running off a headunit so its all coming out when i get the new car.
wanting to strip the car so it can be used on track occasionally and nothing will be flung about, makes the car more exciting to drive and to save as much weight as possible depending on what power i want to go for

So listening to music on an Ipod is better than running a decent set of components? lol

I use an iPod mostly now, did have a set of reasonably decent coaxials (I know comps are better but im not gonna put a set in a stripped out car am I lol) but could never get them loud enough to hear over the mechanical noises without them being overly loud. Love bopping along with my iPod in now lol. Havent even got a H/U anymore.

Sheep Modding ftw!

Fair play if its going to see the track alot then strip it but if you use the car daily are the gains really worth it? Try driving a properly stripped car with a decat and a serious suspension set up everyday for a month. Its fun at first but gets to be hell after a while. Thats why i have a full interior again and am looking to get some decent road suspension for my track setup.
I learnt the hard way

see now i might be the strangest person around but to me i love the feeling of having to climb over bars to get in my car and it being loud with no luxurys or comfort at all as opposed to climbing in a car with leather seats loads of buttons cruise control comfort etc... this is why i couldnt hack my vectra c i sold it after about a month of owning it lol.:y: but i am pretty mental tbf the only luxury i like to keep is heating and my dash it gets cold in winter if you gut the car lol. dont see why its cool either the classy ladies are not impressed what so ever by a track car lol.

Get a docking station on the passenger seat :D

Why not just listen to a Ipod, not the same as a good install, but owell.

Fair play mate if thats what you like then go for it. I thought that aswell and after numerous people on here telling me not to do it when i use the car soo much, i didnt listen and went ahead and did it anyway. It was a laugh and good fun for a while but it gets tedious after a while. Now id just prefer a comfy car to cruise around in and listen to good music. (maybe im getting old?)
On the other hand my track suspension setup is for sale, at a bargain price if you want it. Link below:

I do about 300 miles a week in a stripped, caged and quite noisy daily driver. I need some tunes to keep me sane so for that reason the stereo and front speakers are staying. If I get a proper comfy daily drive and use the saxo for solely track work then I'll remove it.

For the life of me I can't understand why anyone would strip their car for 'the look'.

I dont understand why you have to be a regular track day goer to enjoy the benefits of a stripped out car :s

Ive had mine stripped for over a year now, I did it for the performance (mainly handling) benefits, I didnt do it to be cool and fit in wit da crowd. But just because I dont go on regular track sessions doesnt mean that the benefits cant be enjoyed down the epic B roads we have. Ive got no intentions of changing it back

Haha I have to do that. Something breaks every week. Usually fixes itself. Latest one is a clunk from the rear when i brake. Worries me lol.
