Front speeaker mount depth

Anyone know what the max mount depth without a spacer is for the front speakers?

I just wonered if its possible to fit a speaker that has a mount depth of 2 & 1/4 inches into the standard holes without having to build custom pods for them?

think my Infinity 5000cs components have a mounting depth of 2.25inches on the main speaker mate. they went into the standard holes without a problem

Did you have to use a spacer Al to stop them rubbing on the window when its fully down?

i tryed fitting some alpine type r componants in to my girls 106 (same as a saxo if you didny know) and i could not get the fuckers even half the way in.

did they have a built in crossover Reevesy ? the Inifinity ones come seperate so you don't have the extra depth on the back of the speakers

no they are component with the seperant crossover the speakers are very deep even for a 13cm speaker. smileys/smiley13.gif
