Whats most funniest thing which happend to you, when working on your saxo?
Mine has to be other day.. Heatwave.. took all interior out, started putting new 1 in.. Smashed back on door, as metal thing sticks out.. cut back on it.. stabbed my finger like 5 times with screwdriver.. sweating to hell.. Finally did after like 6 hours.. go to get out.. and door handle falls off.. Like ermm why am i holding door handle and door still shut? :wall:
Was soooo annoying at time! But i find it so funny now LOL! :fcuk:
Whats yours? Could be intresting this :)
Nothings ever funny at the time. Im God when it comes to working on my own, i mean i built a full size miniramp on me tod, but on the sax on my own ive changed the bonnet, doors and boot - With lighter ones but didnt brake the heavy oem ones.
I remember taking the boot off, with glass, wiper motor etc all atached having it resting on my back and thinking "How the fuck do i put this down" i ended up just going into the garden and laying on my face coz i had no arms to stop myself falling forward.
I took one door off and had loosened both bolts, too the top one off and had to hold the door with one arm and remove the other bolt with the other, that made me sweat and shake a bit.
Ive let the jack down with my arm on the back wheel and nearly took my arm off - dangers of being far too low and working on the car in the early hours after a few tins.
I was layed on the little kart thing taking my tow bar off and thought id got two bolts to do, undid one and the whole thing just dropped off and hit me in the face.
I cut my centre exhaust hanger off with an angle grinder in anger because i couldn't get a bush back on :)
My carbon bonnet doesnt have a stand and i dont have a bit of wood to hold it up, it holds itself vertical but sometimes if the wind catches it, it decides to shut. Not a problem if its your head because it weighs bugger all but if youve just got a hand over the wing the edge of the carbon is sharp as chuff and just fucks up your hand.
Ive done loads of other stupid stuff, its always when ive been working on the car for ages and im tired.

prob madest thing that has happened was me and wigan saxo taking engine out my saxo had no front wheels on and was resting on 2 scissor jacks why i jacked the front up to get the engine under.
next thing saxo just falls to left so i grabbed it and was hanging on for death to stop it falling. then thought fuck it its being scrapped anyway , let do and it land on the wheel i put underneath just incase it fell :P result

when i fitted my sub i did it at college in the car park.....
was a boiling hot day (even hotter inside my car) i was laying in the footwells etc to get the power wire to the battery, when i took the positive off the battery my alarm started going off, so i was laying down in my car trying to get a wire through small gaps, with about 10 people standing around, the alarm going off, and in the boiling heat.....it worked in the end :)

engine conversion on my own and lots happened! specifically having to remove and refit the new engine 3 times. then it wouldnt start for reasons unknown so i took the coilpack off and my mate tried to start the car which gave me an electric shock. then the new clutch went the next day so had to pull it all apart again. then a clip broke on one of the coolant hoses and it dropped all its coolant while driving.

Drilling on new pedals, the saxo pedals are quite close together anyway, with the new pedals there was not enough room for the clutch:n:

Going to fit the new rear seats from a Saxo VTR.
I'd been to the scrapyard to get the interior, I thought I had got the bit you sit on from one car, and bit you lean on from another car. Got home, and realised I had got 2 bits you lean on.

Removing heatshield and dropped spanner in face
How manage that? As surely you did above engine? So if dropped it, would just fall on floor? As 2 bolts on top of Heatshield?

Heatshield for exhaust is three bolts on top of it? Why go underneath?

The heatshield underneath the car, sits over center section and covers the adjustment bolt for handbrake

lying underneath the car attempting to remove the oil filter and i just couldn't loosen it off, stabbed roughly 12 holes through it with a screwdriver and still couldn't get the bastard thing off. After about 10 mins of sweating, swearing, and being close to tears, i realised i was tightening it up. :homme:
its the most easy job to do which i've done countless amounts of times and i've never 'messed it up'
felt like a right pr1ck when i realised! its funny to look back on though.:fcuk:

haha, I cant remember how many times Ive spent ages trying to undo a 'seized' bolt or nut, and eventually realise ive been doing it up. After hours of working non stop I do it all the time :wall:

Just remembered, was refitting my buckets the other week, had my head behind the drivers seat whilst I was knelt outside the car.
Tightened it all up, took about five minutes to do the bolts as theyre in awkward places.
Went to stand up, head was too big to get through the gap between the back of the seat and the B pillar lol
A mate was working on my engine at the time, told him to come round the side, he was actually in tears of laughter lol. Was struggling but couldnt get out for shit. Had to undo them again

Was at a local scrappie looking for door rubber as mine was ripped and letting in water found a saxo at the top of a 5 car pile so clambered up and it was stripped.
basciley just a shell still had the door rubbers thoe so i got up there and was standing on a door frame of anouther car that was in anouther pile next to the saxo pile.
So i leaned across to lean on the saxo to pull off the rubber and it just went lol straight off the top of the pile and crashed onto a car that was lower down in the next pile lol owner didnt look too pleased tbh thoe.
