lol, nah the other threads by someone else, so your free to post obvs, just random how two people have an amp but need a 10" to match
you wont lose much weight tbh, and with the small output of the amp, you want as much bass as you can get
keep the 12" imo
that sub looks quite deep what 10" box will i need for it
custom made box as with all subs
probs less than 1cu.ft if sealed
around 1.cu.ft if ported
its not that deep, 8"

what sort of power and rms ect should i be looking for that will work best with my amp so i can do some serching about for subs

cant remember the exact specs of the amp, but it'll be giving a sub around 150wrms
if anything, look to increase amp power
but remmeber, subs dont produce watts, power figures dont have to be matched... buy a decent sub, then later on get a good amp for it
failing that: just keep the 12" you have, i dont see what your gaining from buying a smaller sub, saving 2kg, if that? it'll produce more bass than a 10" anyway

i see what your saying, i was hoping it would be at least a littel bit diffrent in wight, as i did a boot build and have the sub at the drivers side, and i have upgraded the wheels to 15" and it seems that the wight is causing the tyer to rub on the arch, so i carnt take no pasengers, and its only doing it on the drivers side,
if i keep the 12" what sub do you reckon will be best for the amp to get as much clear deep bass as i can, cheers for your help by the way :y:

put the sub in the middle of the boot
simple, obvious solution..
what sub do you have? exact model?

the reason why audio advice should always be seeked before a purchase ;)
new amp, inphase suck, over rated & over ambitious,

yeah your rite mate i should of seeked advice, i bought it about a year ago, and its seems to be ok bass is quite deep, i have turnd it down to be truthfull because it was to much, but it could still be alot beter though, i carnt find the manual for the sub model, so am going to serch on the net and put a link up, 2 secs

rated at 300wrms
but have been known to take in excess of double
im sceptical about them myselves, well taking over 700wrms, can be done, but i wouldnt do it
giving it around 500wrms would be fine, something like this:

so do you rekon im best keeping the sub and upgrade the amp, then that should give me better sound quality, can you get lighter sub boxes then, i have seen fiberglass ones on ebay but there about £100, big diffrens from a £20-£30 wooden box

yeah i dont no what it is mate but it only does it on the drivers side where the sub box is, maby the dampers fooked, and i will never be able to lower it with these stupid alloys

put sub box in middle, check suspension
my box is around 4 - 5 kilos, and my sub is around 10 - 20, amps in total are around 5 - 10kg

yeah im going to move it to the middel, ill be taking the false floor out to get rid of abit of waight, so ill have to screw the amp to the box again, how did you secure your box down, on the lowering side i carnt do it because the wheels wont took up into the arches they needed 5mm spacers on wich now means the arch is inline with the tyers, the tyers are 195/50/15, but even if i lowerd it and put 45 profile on its still going to be the same, i think the only solution would be to fit a vt kit
Ashleyp
26th June 2009, 20:13
adding a VT kit is an epic waste of cash tbh
velcroe on bottom of sub box attaches to carpet
sykes2009
26th June 2009, 20:15
do you think it would be a waste, just i thought that when puting on the rear arches to a flat arch, some of the rear quarter had to be cut away so then that would allow me some room to lower

nope.. vt kit is just clipped on to a standard body, so pointless.
buy a VT* car, or drive a flat arch car
kitted up VT's are biggest waste of money going

spend a bit more mate and get a relly good one this 900 rms witch is the real watts, peak is only what it can take for a sec or 2,
so this one will take any thing
