View Full Version : Possibly ARB Loose?

Since having my vts lowered 40mm, there has only been the noise from the rear caused by the bolt on the arm not being covered with copper slip. I greased the bolt up and it has been fine since (6months ago).
Now however, there has been a new noise from the rear, which has only started recently. It is a clonk noise, (metal on metal) which only seems to occur when pulling away/stopping, and when there is a change in camber on the road.
I have had it checked at a garage, and they said that it was def. not the rear beam on the way out, so i was thinking possibly the ARB needing tightening?
I have read the other posts on this, and was just wondering if this is what anyone else thinks?
Thanks
Jimbo.

Aye, most likely the ARB plate sliding about knocking on the bolt mate.

I tried everything, in the end I used some metal putty around the entire bolt and plate, around the trailing arm. Seems to have done the trick. Tried bolt glue before that and even that failed.

need to pull the arb further into the end plate. not just tighten the 13mm bolt up.

they can wear a slot into the end plate so wont tighten up much and will start to bang/ting again you can tap a bigger hole for new bolt or weld a washer on or stump up for some new end plates
