got subframes and seats on the way, i'm assuming the upright part on the subframe is for bolting the seatbelt buckle too, but where do i put the pretentioners too under the seat? and what do they do? removing airbag for a new steering wheel too if that makes any differance

jaystar89
28th June 2009, 20:27
yer, yours sit on the the origional bolts - like the 2 side wall bolts and the 2 center (where handbreak is) bolts - i think the legs on mine may sit in between there.

i really hope i dont have to edit them alot - nothing is ever as simple as "it works first time" for me

yer that would be spot on mate. theyre brand new as far as im aware so ill see the quality. Paid £25 for each and a £10 postage (for both of em) - I got an email earlier saying theyre getin posted tomorow so hopefully, come wednesday, i will have em!

Is it leagle to just ... bolt em down in place, or do they need to be in the origional bolt holes? i really have no idea how they are fitted so im guna have a ball trying to fit em... the prob is, if i cant do it... i cant really drive it to a garage :P lol lil bit worried tbh

just a torx set, and a flat head screw driver to get pre tentioners off. was ok i kinda got a better idea of how they fit in, but only gonna find out for sure when the lot is here. and looking at yours where u gonna bolt the seatbelt buckle too? or are u getting harnesses?

i'm only hoping the part thats in the L shape with the hole in is for the seatbelt buckle

jaystar89
28th June 2009, 20:48
ahh wait, compair mine to yours mate. My runners are at the edge of the subframe, where you have about 2 inch of extra metal befor the screw hole meaning yours are about 3 or 4 inches wider than mine. HOPEFULLY this will mean, the my subframes will sit in the seat well and the legs will make it sit around the right height - hence "UNIVERSAL" subframe - I clinging to this hope lmao!

jaystar89

what would mean, i just get a bolt and bolt the seat belt bucket back to where it was clamped befor (im pretty sure the belt buckle is bolted to the floor rather than the seat)

jaystar89

i found this - these look very similare to mint (i know the feet are sticking in the way, but mine can be swapped to face in aswell)

correct me if im beint a total n00b ha - but could you fit the buckel so the buckel is attached to the same bolt as the back bolt joining the slider to the frame? (like in between the slider and the attual subframe)???

marcusd
28th June 2009, 21:01
more or less the same as yours, but cheapest i seen

jaystar89
28th June 2009, 21:08

jaystar89

mate - went to the garage - basicly he told me to take me old seats out, remove the outside runner (one that the seat belt isnt connected to) fit the subframes by bolting into the floor and keep the old inside frame with the plastic stripped so you cant see it, to house the seat belt - otherwise its you have to bolt it to re-enforced flooring and blah - pain in the arse and not worth it - i dont think thise will help you alot but it might! :)
