does each side have to be equal on the rear or is there some tollerance you can have once its lowered?

take it back, i had the same problem about two weeks ago. you made sure its on level ground?

Its been lowered by clicks / notches... which is the wrong way.
(sounds like it anyway)

5mm difference isnt very accurate. Whichever side you prefer remeasure and match the 'odd' side to match up again.
