mot time :(

well car went in yesterday for mot and it was a big FAIL.... loads of problems with it... but the main one which is worrying me is the catalic converter?

how much am i looking at to buy one of these?

and also how much am i looking at to get it fitted?

about £65, its easy enough to fit but if you get the garage to buy it for you and ask them to fit it shouldnt be alot

can get a cat off ebay for £60 so its not too bad. what else is wrong with it?

off the top off my head what i can remember is...

fuel somat(in the rear of car) loose??
both headlights need adjusting
need new bulb in plate light
cv joint/boot??
2 new tyres (1 no tread left 1 got a nail in)
leaking gasses from exhaust
emiisisons too high
and something else from the exhaust too high?
both front brakes juddering slightly


they have done most of the work but said they have tried everything to sort the thing thats too high from exhaust but now the cat is the last resort they said?

but yesterday they said the cat seemed fine???

im not getting ripped off as its a little backstreet garage that all the family haved used for years on end?

iva also had them put a new lower engine mount on it too


i just want my car back :(

mine jus went in too to my mates garage he tested it and hes gona fix what ever is wrong. obviously failed but ....
things i did know about;
ball joints n arm needed replacing
exhaust was blowing a little

Things i didnt know about :
2 tyres had a cut in em
Headlights needed adjustin

Needless to say its all fixed now for £200 squids with new exhaust and ball joints(includin arms) and headlight work, new side light bulbs and a rear fog light bulb
Mot runs out saturday so all i gota do is get 2 new tyres b4 saturday and take it to him for a re-test.
Other than that my mate was starrin at it and he said ( and i quote )
` Not a bad motor this :D '

I had mine done the other day and was expecting a BIGGGGGG fail but only failed on 3 tyres and my plates with free re-test was chufed haha an my mums just realised she hasnt had an MOT since december lol

Mine had a problem with Cat, but friend had one spare. So all sorted and passed! Yey!!

haha god ive just bought a cat d write off ive managed to get it ready for an mot like so wait and see what happens lol ut my last vtr was a cat c write off tht i bought i repaired all of that and took it for an mot and there was 3 pages of failsss. lol

haha it failed on fukin allsorts because the bloke in the mot station is a prik i dont know y i even took it there, but hey he failed it on like seat belts sticking and ball joints that there wasnt actually anything amatter with but it got throuigh in the end and just a week ago the car (broke it back) thats when the car is to low on the back and there is to much strain onnthe chassis rails and they snapped :( sick, but ive got my new 1 to compete with lol
