hey guys.

Well going to be getting my hands on some of these in the next few days.

Will have calipers and pads, but will need to get discs.

First of all a list of cars which i can get the discs from would be good :D

Secondly, i think im going to fit these myself, save some cost.

Have changed pads and discs before so there is no problems there, its just the caliper.

last time i done my brakes the brake hose looked rather corroded where it joins so i was thinking on getting some braided ones while im on, may aswell tbh!

Are the standards easy to get off?? just if they are rusted they could be rather stuck!!

Also, i would obviously have to bleed to brakes once ive fitted everything, now ive never done this before, but i know the process.

Pump the peddle till its stiff
open valve til pedal goes to floor,
close valve and repeat etc.

Just wanting to no will i only have to do do the front brakes and not bleed from the rear aswell??

Just was told the rear bleed nipples can snap of very easily and i dont fancy the thought of that tbh

any advice would be good :)

i have 266mm 206 gti set up with braded hoses. works well there will be more travel in the pedal and you may need to trim up the calipers to fit. they squeeze under my 14s snug as a bug in a rug...

bleed both front and back brakes.

disks from 206 gti

206gti 180 are larger disks and they are the ones to have if you have 15"s or larger wheels...

the ones ive bought are off a 306 HDI.

Need a damn good clean up as they are canny rusty and the old brake lines are still attatched. so will need alot of WD40 lol

Can you use any 266mm discs, liek i wont need some 306hdi etc....

As for pads, i guess i will need to get the 306hdi pads??

also i have 15inch wheels so they should fit under the wheels perfectly fine.

rear's dont need bleeding again as you havent done anything to get air into the lines. its only the fonts where the air is going to be.

get a bleed kit and it will take you 5mins to bleed both sides. yes its that easy!

thats what i thought you see!

Thats good news,

Was just going to get a friend to help me with a bottle or somthing lol

btw, can you buy new bleed nipple covers?? as they are abit split.

Never actually done this before, do you twist the bleed nipple or somthing to open it??

Just they are canny rusty these brakes dont want to snap anything!, going to clean them up though

the bleed nipple has IIRC a 8mm ring spanner fitment at the base.

as for the covers... do you really need them?

as for bleeding the system its a piece of piss!! and if the pedal travel is too excessive for you, follow the guide for adjusting the brake pedal and you'l sort that out. dont adjust it to much tho cause the rear brakes will bite.
