Geting all new audio in the car and i dont want nothing to expensive and flashy just something that will give me some nice bass.

Already got JBL comps and amped them up.

Now the sub amp and wiring.

this is the sub im after http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jbl-gto-1202d-p-4235.html?cadid=eq2f7f0jkk5pgv2gq9cf2lrad3 300WRMS seems plenty enough for me tbh i think!

Now...

With this amp (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jbl-gt5a3001-p-7420.html?cadid=s4a622dohunl8srsfl3hvmdnn4) it says 300WRMS at 1Ohm and on the sub description it says 1 or 4 Ohms depending on wiring so what wiring would i need to be able to run the sub at 1Ohm and wire to the amp.

Cheers

well you will nee a distribution block to run multiple amps which is only a few quid

you should uprate your battery to a decent heavy duty one if you havent already done so

run at least a 4 gauge from battery to dis block and then 8 gauge to the amps from block, 4 gauge would be ideal but most amps wont accept a bigger cable, as long as you get a ecent earth and decent battery and uprate the big 3 in engine bay it will be fine

ive got a heavy duty diesel battery as its a dirty dervv!

can you show me some stuff which would be good please?

i need speaker cables so i can run the comps the amp.

then cables so i can run to amps to the battery one for sub and one for comps

basically all the wiring.

Someone said its a really crap amp if it does 300WRMS at 1Ohm?

Got your message bud...

Tbh a bigger battery is a good idea but not necessary! im running all my stuff from a battery alot smaller than yours for now!
The big 3 is a good idea for the future but again not needed as a priority with a small install.
I dont really like JBL stuff much but its cheap if your on a budget!
Would be better off getting an amp that produces 300watts at 2 or 4 ohms to be honest.
the sub you linked is duel voice coil meaning its sort of like having 2 subs as theres 2 sets or terminals.
basically if the sub is 2x2 ohms then you wire in parallel and you'll get your 1 ohm, if its duel 4 ohms then you wire in parrallel then you'll only get 2 ohms, meaning less power.
Id be tempted to suggest saving a bit more money and have a look on caraudiosecurity.com as i find there midrange audio stuff better value!
Bigger JBL amp and a pioneer 12" 3000w (1000w RMS) sub would be alot better but obviously more expensive, approx £90 for the sub and £100-£140 for an amp

you'll only end up wanting more soon so better to get it right the first time imo, i should know ive been there and done that lol

tbh i would see it as a good amp as you dont get meny amps at that price that are stable at 1ohm

that sub and that amp should be fine together all you do is wire both sets of -+ terminals from the sub to each -+ on the amp

i would tb3 three too your not running alot of power but its always good to keep voltage up as there is less chance of blowing things up

jbl ftw :y:

to be honest i might just go with lippy on this.

caraudiosecurity have a sony explode sub which is 380WRMS for same price i would be paying for that JBL. going to start saving a little more, id rather wait a few extra weeks for better stuff

what about this set up:

sub

amp
http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/5624.html

both 350WRMS at 2Ohm

i think it will be pretty good, youll be able to get good power through it... its not just the 300wrms, being able to run at 1 ohm means your sub is more efficient and can support more current without overheating.

as for wiring you mentioned you already have another amp which is running comps. getting some 4awg would be fine, get an extra metre or two and you can upgrade your big 3 too, the standard wire is perfectly fine for your power but the less voltage drop there is the more power you can get to your amp. i noticed a difference when upgrading everything to 0awg even though im not running that much power... where before my voltage was dropping to mid 12s on big bass now it rarely goes below 13.6-7.

dont worry about upgrading batteries unless you play it with the engine off a lot, standard battery and alt will be fine especially as i see you have a diesel.

the comps arnt amped up yet.

there is a two amp wiring kit on CAD for £60 but i dont really wanna pay that, any cheaper options?
