A friend of mine suggested we swaped cars, at first i thought something is wrong here..

he wanted my car (1.1 eastcoast) because he has a VTR which costs him too much to run.

Anyways had a look at the car today and its in mint condition clean and drives like a dream, i have done a check on the car and this is what im getting..

the only down fall is my car has 76k on the clock, his has 107k on the clock. no service history on either car aswell.

what are yourthought's?

I would be put off byt the miles on the clock and the absent history but thats me. When is its next MOT due? Theres got to be something fishy about this? ... right?

Sounded fishy to me TBF thats why i had a check done on it, about 7 months mot left. i have looked over the car and looks to be in good working order.

he was going to sell the car then buy a smaller car, mine was up for sale for £600, he wanted my car and £100 cash, i said no because he gets the alloys and ICE, played on he fact that i had no cash.. bills etc.. and he went for it :y:

If your happy with it and your not going to regret it a couple of weeks down the line when he's bombing round in your westcoast and you've got problems with the VTR and it's off the road...

Why would an old couple buy a VTR with tinted rear windows though (the previous owners)??

Sorry they don't look tinted on side pics, I was just looking at the rear one - my bad

Also the running costs of a vtr> 1.1 isn't that different imo, smells a bit fishy but if your mate is a good one it should all be fine

It is down to how it's driven, if you are a "fast" driver the bigger engine will often be more economical.

Like the thing on topgear once where a bmw was more economical round the track than another little car (cant remember which) all the bmw did was keep up with the smaller car being ragged round the track
