Right ... have done a engine swap on my VTR for a VTS engine (some year, plug, etc, etc.)

just wondering if any of the following are anything to worry about or if thats just how a 16v engine works (lol)

1. the temperature guage is 3/4 of the way up all the time (obv not in the mornings, etc.) just wondered if thats normal (has a VTS cooling set up on as well)
2. once its up to that "normal" temperature, i opened the bonnet and it just seemed like a very hot engine bay ... is it normal for 16v lumps to run hot or not?
3. have got a standard manifold on with no heat shield ... will this be ok for say a couple of months till i get a 4 branch? (maybe the reason for the above heat problems??)
4. the car has got 2 fpr's on the moment (one on the VTR tank and one on the VTS fuel rail) and also has a power boost valve with a return all plumbed in. is this set up alright? is using 2 fpr's fine? (note the car has been cammed and hense the power boost valve)

The car runs fine and is very nippy (I am very pleased with the conversion)
just wanting to check the above issues are ok and if not i will get them sorted :y:

sorry for the essay guys

cheers :y:

1. Sounds like you have an airlock - I'd give it a good bleed!
2. They all run 'hot' as such - like its hot to touch the engine when it's upto normal temperature. Mine runs around the halfway mark depending on the outside temperature
3. It'll be fine, just don't touch the manifold with your hand when it's hot!
4. I don;t know if running 2 fpr'is is fine, but can imagine one is 3 bar and the other is 3.5bar. I'd look to get rid of the power boost valve, and the vtr fpr on the tank IMO.

my engine is always hot! i think the vtr pressure regulator is stronger than the vts so should be fine

stronger !?

One is 3.5 bar, the other is 3 bar, theres nothing different with regards to strength in the noraml way you'd define something as stronger. The difference relates to the fuel pressure they 'maintain'

thats what i was thinkin too :y:

You ideally want to to put the 3.5 bar one in your fuel rail and get rid of the one on the fuel tank. The adjustable FPR is a good idea, lets you lean the mixture in and out, but not sure how it can work in conjunction with the standard FPR. You plumb a return in?

yes a return has been plumbed in :y:

Cool. So if you have a FPR on your tank, whip it all out including any of the hoses and block off the hoses that need it, if any. If its a 3.5, put that in your fuel rail. It should run rather nicely then.
