whuring noise in 4th and 5th gear PLEASE HELP!!

theres a really loud whuring type noise coming from what feels like underneath the drivers foot-well and it vibrates. it only seems to make the noise when the cars been going for a while and warmed up so to say in 4th and 5th gears.it still makes the noise in neutral and stops if i stop the car for a few minutes and will then come back after a while. its driving me crazy coz evry time i take it 2 the garage they cant hear the noise :-@

thanks!!there is a banging when i turn the steering wheel 2 the right so this could be the same problem???this cars driving me crazy, only had it 2 months nd iv got that problem where the engine management light is on because of the cat but ive had a new one :-@

sounds deffo like a cv joint then buddy, and i had the same problem with my engine managment light with the cat, if you've had a new cat put on its probably one of the lambda sensors?
