just checked my cooling fluid en saw this:

also the engine is leaking oil at the front right side where the alternator is mounted. Could it be that the head gasket is on his way out or is it something else?

could be the head gasket but thats an awful lot of crap in there
check your oil cap/dipstick etc for shit in there aswell
lately a few of the guys on the 306 forum have had problems similar to this an its been the oil / water heat exchanger, no idea if the saxo suffers from this problem though

100% headgasket. There is an oil gallery just above the alternator and it always leaks. On every TU headgasket ive done it leaks from that gallery into the coolant and down past the alternator.
When you get it replaced use wellseal or some other jointing compound around that oil gallery to stop it leaking again.

I dont think 1.4s have oil coolers as standard. Only 16v have them.

About 300 quid for a head gasket changing, its alot of work, you could give it ago yourself I guess but not advised if you don't know what your doing!

Head bolts are stretch type so they need to be replaced anyway.

Pointless changing the head gasket unless it has given up the ghost, or the head has been removed.
