View Full Version : Outer cv boot slide on?

The outer cv boot has split again, now I've replaced too many shafts. Whats the easiest way of getting the boot on. The haynes insists on sliding it on from the inner end (gearbox end) however I'd rather leave the shaft in the gearbox as I put on the boot.

I can't imagine the small end of the gaiter sliding over the large circular end of the shaft (hub end) is this at all possible? Or is it easier cutting the boot in half and resealing the boot with tigerseal/superglue?

Cheers for any views/opinions, I don't have the dosh to keep buying shafts.

Thats awesome but I've already bought a cv boot, if only I'd seen this a day sooner ;) Will bare it in mind though buddy, may return the current boot tbh.
