Anyone getting it? I was a huge fan of 1942 on the PC and played it to death. 1943 is an Xbox Live Arcade game and will cost 1200 points and it's out tomorrow!

Can't wait, should be amazing :D

It's online only and from what I've read, 24 players in a game, 12 per side.

Gonna be having a good sesh on it tomorrow!

Use to love the old Battlefield games.
Loving COD4 atm so can't really be arsed to get it.

Download is 550mb and I have to say it's very impressive for a downloadable game.

That's not the case with Battlefield. Play it and see...

The large terrain would be awesome fo covert ops type stylee. Lovin' the sniping from like a mile away on top of a mountain! :cool:

I will probably rub off some of the dust from 360 and try this out tonight. I LOVED the Battlefield 2 game on the PC. My only worry is that it's only 24 players. Historically, the Battlfield maps are HUGE, so require more like 40+ players to truely enjoy...

Maps have been tuned to suit the smaller player numbers. You still get the same sense of massive warfare as Battlefield 1942 but in a much smaller environment.

Battlefield 2 maps were tiny in comparison to Battlefield 1942 :P

Haven't played 1942 then. By far the best of the series.

Finally got some games in with all this server malarky. I'm not that impressed. Poor framerate and tearing to go with... Doesn't seem much different to Battlefield Bad Company, which I sold the other week...

Weird, I don't get frame rate drops or tearing. In fact I couldn't believe how polished it was considering it's a 500mb download for under a tenner.

You must be lucky. This is aa typical EA game, full of glitches and bugs, with lots of server problems.

The framerate doesn't drop, it's just low. Like 20 or 25fps. Looks crap compared to the silky smooth COD4/5 engine.

It's also a pointless game with no unlocks and map or game type choices.
