handbrake trouble in need of some mega help

my handbrake has either snapped or come loose

been told that the cable sits under the heatshield in middle of car ... but my question is how do i get to the heatshield then under it to have a look at it

ive already jacked it up and crawled underneath to see if i could see it but no joy

You need to remove the heatshield. Once under the car, there is a metal plate above the exhaust. This needs to removed, i think it is bolted on. Unbolt it, pull it off and you will see where the front cable joins the rear cables along with the adjusters etc.

Hi, the handbrake cable is above the heat shield when you are under the car. Need to remove it to get to cable.
