Not sure about insurance, could be a few groups higher than a vtr.
But as for performance, my mate has one, standard apart from an induction kit an exhaust and has a slight edge on mine accelerating, with the same mods.

Im looking into next car possabilities, The Zetec S is awesome, But I think i gota test drive one before I bother thinking any further into it.
Strangley enough, Because Zetec S are hard to come by where I am. So ST's are cheaper
