God damme why.

I think they got the price estimate wrong cause 8k wouldnt get you a 500bhp evo 7

PSPDan

Rob-6
12th July 2009, 20:06
think its pretty wasteful tbh!

djmartin
12th July 2009, 20:06
not amused they did that to an evo. to extent a tear ran down my face :(.

evo is my all time fav car and has been since the day i saw one in the flesh.

id like to meet the drug dealer who had that car, il kill the bastard, if it want for him that car would not have been destroyed :(.

im slightly depressed now :(

PSPDan
12th July 2009, 20:07
Woo On Thin Ice. I love this programme xP

JamesR
12th July 2009, 20:08
Petition anyone? Right a letter of complaint from the members of sax-p?

Just to say that was a bit sad / depressing?

AlexR
12th July 2009, 20:09
They would have crushed it anyway. They crush major drug dealers cars and confiscate all of their assets that they can't prove they earned a decent living to pay for, anything that's attributed to drug money is reposessed.

Liam_
12th July 2009, 20:09
Still a waste of a nice car. I thought that whole feature was totally pointless.

djmartin
12th July 2009, 20:10

nah by law thats what would have been done to it anyways as state (crushed) but it went out with a fighting chance.

only thing im slightly ok with is that it want the tommi edition evo 6. I swear on my life if it was id have got in my car now and litrally drove to the BBC centre and shouted you cruel f**kers WHY??? lol

Mr_X
12th July 2009, 20:12
its was better for the car to go that way than be straight crushed

shady22
12th July 2009, 20:12
thats wat top gear is all about, making fun of stuff i fort it was very funny destroying the evo

Rob-6
12th July 2009, 20:13
they should auction them off not crush them anyway so somebody who actually wants the car has a chance to own it

Shellz
12th July 2009, 20:13
Lol!

I said there would be a reason behind it. I said it was probably taken away to be crushed. But did it in style instead! :P

Ben121290
12th July 2009, 20:14
was seriously not cool to watch :(:(

matt_vtr_15
12th July 2009, 20:14
Im actually distraught!!! Why would the law state to crush it? Could strip it down and sell it as parts which would help get funding for things! I bet the evo forums are in uproar!

Anyone do a hpi check on the evo?

Ryan
12th July 2009, 20:16
I love all the JC lovers whinging.

if it was another car they would be laughing.

At least a car was destroyed in a fun way showing the power the army have with a few cool toys.

much better than going in a crusher.

Robvts20 for prime minister tbh

djmartin
12th July 2009, 20:24
different plate i assume?

most probs OR due to the car is off the road and crushed they may just totally wipe all its records out usally a HPI check would say if the cars been crushed but in this instance id say they wanted the whole thing destroyed plate and all. due to the plate is connected to illegal matters! i.e drugs.

matt_vtr_15
12th July 2009, 20:25
NO record of the car m8 lol

just checked it up!

sneaky top gear! Was sad to see but much better than being crushed normally

djmartin
12th July 2009, 20:26
Rob vts for prime minister tbh

the guys wrong. they cant auction it off the car was involved in illegal related things. so the plate/car has a background...same with cars stolen and recoverd. the new owner would by law have to know the previous owner was a drug dealer lol. so nopes it dont work that way im affraid haha. and auction parts off nah imagine how much it would cost them to strip the car down then sell all the items and then have to sort out the paper work etc etc crushing it is the easy option. kinda like how california have that law about boy racers etc etc.

CampDavid
12th July 2009, 20:27
Not seen it. There was a thread on the Evo forum about it. Owned by a dealer. I believe it could have been auctioned off, however how much is an Evo 7, ex dealer, no history, probably ragged to crap worth? Better to show public what happens to your stuff if you make your money through crime maybe?

Nope.

Can just see it, one day you go to start it and it goes bang.

Ryan
12th July 2009, 20:34
Can just see it, one day you go to start it and it goes bang.

or more likely, you get attacked because he upset the wrong people/is out of jail and wants it back.

Many different reasons a car like this is worth fuck all.

gavin_t
12th July 2009, 20:37
Imagine the police having to chase that drug dealer :fcuk:

Also please tell me where I can get an evo in that spec for 8k. I want one

Rob-6
12th July 2009, 20:38

VtsTom
12th July 2009, 20:38

JamesR
12th July 2009, 20:38

Top gear seem to be good, and about the only visible advertising for the mite of our Army.

Plus every car dies in the end so why does it matter if they dstroyed it, its just the usual male loving detruction hormon

Mieran
12th July 2009, 20:49
What was the point of that feature or the royal mail bit?

Mr_X
12th July 2009, 20:50
What was the point of that feature or the royal mail bit?

was entertaining

Mieran
12th July 2009, 20:53
The royal mail bit was boring, the evo would've been better with a 50cal on the roof tbh

Stissy
12th July 2009, 21:10

spot on i reckon.

13th July 2009, 01:08
Top Gear did the right thing.

Plus I think the Evo 7 is one of the most ugliest Evo's ever made along with the Evo 4.
Saxo FTW

Im just glad Im driving a car that Jeremy clarkson put into the same sentence as a Lamborgini Diablo :p

Bickerton
13th July 2009, 06:43
Was yet another pathetically predictable and staged feature on top gear!
I know was showing what the Army had, but would be better use for those vehicles to be in Afghanistan atm no?

Car had to be destroyed anyways so at least some people got a bit of entertainment outta it

LeeBBH
13th July 2009, 08:05
I dont think it showed the strength of our army much, as sadly Jeremy Clarkson didnt get shot in the face :n:

That car would of been worth in excess of 12k top gear got so many things wrong on the details of the motor

Mieran

They always do.

They only thing they get right is super car's bhp figures.
