As much as i love my VTR, It HAS to go, Its attracting the wrong atention, I cant park it near my house and for the price i pay out a month for it its just a total waste of money for just a weekend car.
My furio is on ebay at the moment. hopefully that will go then i will return my vtr back to totally standard, (unless i get any interest) I know i have said i wanted to sell up a few times, but at the moment i cant see any point to owning this car at all smileys/sad.gif
It will break my heart parting with these too and i cant think of another car i would acually like.
Any ideas
Today is a sad day smileys/sad.gif

Clouds_mate
5th January 2006, 02:40
well i think people was checking it out etc. You see i had my furio broken into and ever since then i havnt parked it at home.
If caught the people braking into it i would batter them and leave them in a pool of blood to die, but just the feeling of walking back outside on a morning noticing some twat has broken into my pride and joy.
I got the VTR 6months ago (tax running out smileys/smiley17.gif) and done the total of .......1000-1250 miles

5th January 2006, 03:21
my old clio got broken into, then 2 days after repair they came back and tried again.
My dads old car was done over a few times too.
Ive got a cobra alarm on it currently. It also just sits there for most of the week
Dan
5th January 2006, 03:29
Dan I think your being way too paranoid mate, If the chavs see an alarm on it they will more than likely not touch it. Get the doors de-locked, remove the door pins and keep the alarm, also get a steering lock aswell. I had mine broken into when it wasnt de-locked twice and since I had it de-locked nobody touched it.
lee
5th January 2006, 03:30
leckie do you have any deterant eg leds or alarm stickers then maybe they would not be intrested in your car if it looked like my green bogey then maybe it would get broken into every night lol smileys/smiley17.gif
Clouds_mate
5th January 2006, 03:32
i no mate just been on dog and bone to gf and say she... i can park my furio at her sisters while i get rid. so i will get people off my back for that while i get rid. So thats 1 good thing.
did they break in while you have an alarm on ?
I use a steering lock including alarm and have removed door pins
How much did the delocking cost?

saxx
5th January 2006, 03:42
tbh it could happen with any car
stevossaxo
5th January 2006, 03:45
dont get rid mate, dont let the scum bags win - i would remove the alarm stickers as if people realy know what they are doing round your area then they may know a way round that make of alarm, but if they are just chavs then there to thick to know....
lee
5th January 2006, 03:46
i know even if you have an alarm it doesent stop them breaking in but with a deterant they might just look away or leckie is just being parinoid smileys/smiley4.gif

well....(shouldnt of asked simo..
2 Days before i had alarm installed on furio i was driving home 11ish at night when i pulled up i saw a car with some lads in parked over road (in a yard) so i fort bollocks to this, drove into the housing area. and came out down the street and they drove off, followed them (not making it clear) anyway night after car got broken into, ever since then i have been like this, but its only with my car, nothing else.
Last night was in bed and saw a light on my roof looked out over into yard and and was some lads in a micra with lights on inside. then they drove off after 10-20mins went back to car this morning to ever thing been alright.

5th January 2006, 03:50
Maybe get a 1.1 saxo, dont think they would be worth breaking into, thats if you kept it more or less standard.
Reef
5th January 2006, 03:51
I HATE JELOUS PEOPLE !... dats the only reason these people do these things to cars, i aint got no ENEMIES at all in my area, still i get some FACKS key'n my car, my saxo (2001 vtr black) has gone in for a full respray cos of this !!!! i did not want to modify the body at all / paint, but iv installed 2 day/night vision camera's now, wana catch tha feckers as did this to my old civic vti smileys/smiley7.gif smileys/smiley7.gif smileys/smiley7.gif

If i saw somebody snooping around my car, i'd make sure they wouldnt go anywhere near it again, even though its a 1.1 & i aint so arsed if anybody breaks into it.
lee
5th January 2006, 03:58
well tony you should be its your car at the end of the day smileys/smiley4.gif
Tony_Jay86
5th January 2006, 04:03
Well, realistically it isnt my car, but i can still sleep at night & not worry about it, theres better cars in this area that would get broken into first.

5th January 2006, 04:06

you can add sensors to a toad cat 1 like glass brake sensor shock sensor and proximitary (spelling) sensor but to be honest if its just outside the house maybe you can talk to your parents about a driveway security thing may lower their housing insurance so in their interest to? im gonna get a prox sensor added to my toad alarm i can see it from my window but better safe then sorry think you can get toad cat 1 with prox for 250-300 or just prox addad around 40-50 think its just basically plugging the sensor into the main unit? not sure tho
