im considering leaving my job........

the new job im looking at pays more than double what im on just now but its a hard job.....and hard to get into.

dont know what to do.....im quite interested in it.........should i leave my typist job and join the Police?? smileys/smiley5.gif

my mate has joined the police, hes 34 and he says all the course work and fitnes along with role plays they do its really hard. he spends alot of his own time studying.

why dont you go to like careers advice and ask them? they could guide you the right way then

well i dont exactly want to be stuck behind this desk doing the same shit every day going nowhere in life....

i know its really hard....but its a good career oppertunity and pays well.

yes it pays well but what happens, when a little boy gets run over and he dies in your arms? having to take things like that home etc will cause a lot of stress for your and a partner.

Yes its brilliant money but has a lot of attachments.

You see i like my weekends and having time off for xmas and bank holidays, your a police officer you wave that good bye ya see.

your right there leckie theres loads of emotional attachment involved which you have to try and detach yourself from ... but like i said look around for advice - the police down here have like open days to join so go to one of them

why dont u look into being a community officer? its not quite as demanding but just as eventful. and u work alongside the police to help

my friend does it and its not bad money

Central Scotland Police arent recruiting at the moment but ive heard they are soon. no more McDonalds for me smileys/smiley19.gif

theres 31 weeks training involved but the training college is just 20mins drive from here so that aint bad.
