Right, went to get a White N97 on Orange from Phones 4 U yesterday, but Orange declined me. I thought fair enouh, only 19 and not been in my job long, so my GF tried on my behalf, as they said anyone could do it if we then swapped the direct debit to my account a few days later, but she got declind aswell.

She is only 18 but has been in her job longer, but again thought it was due to age.

So then her Mum came and tried today, she is Married, 45, been in the same job for 15 years and with the same bank for 29 years and guess what......she got declined too!!!!!

I really cant believe that she got declined? Obviously P4U couldnt give a reason, so anyone got any ideas as to why we've all been declined?

probably because of lack of credit history for u and the gf, and then i assume your mum used the same address? try t-mobile, they'll give anyone a contract

It wasnt my Mum it was my GF's mum, so she used a different address to me.

They only do the white N97 on Vodafone and Orange, and my house has no Vodafone reception at all, so its got to be Orange :(

I really dont know what to do, was well excited about gettnig it today lol

No, they just declined us on the scrren at P4U and they said there was no way they could find out. My GF's mum, who got declined, has even been on Orange contracts in the past!

If you ring orange they will tell you why...

also if you apply online to get one you have more chance for some weird reason...

Yeah but none of those deals are as good as the one from P4U. Trade in my old and very battered N95 and get the new phone free on 18 month contract with 900 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet.

n97 white, 18 month contract , 1200mins , unlimted texts, orange , unlimited internet, free magic number, free phone = £45 month from dialaphone

you may have to go down that route,

if you google "nokia n97 v htc touch pro 2" every review says the HTC touch's are the better phone. I was going to buy a n97 until i done a sh1t loads of research. Dialaphone is doing a deal at the moment on the HTC touch pro 2, same contract as mentioned earlier but only £40 per month.

Worth considering matey

I got my contract from orange while I was still at college working part time so whatever it is you need to contact orange about it.
Why not try another company?

So what happens if I was too go into another shop and change some of my details, ie say I've worked longer than I have and that I am full time etc. Is there anyway they could check this???

Just out of interest, does anybody know if they would have a record of delincing me? Im guessing they would so going in again and bending the truth wouldnt work?

Just thought I'd see if anyone knows as its like 40 mile round trip to the next closest store lol.

Cheers :y:

Credit rating?

that is the only reason for it .. if u miss a payment it leaves a black mark against your name and with the N97 been highly in demand at the moment it will only be giving to customers with clear credit ratings
