View Full Version : saxo cambelt help needed

i just bought a saxo furio it was runing fine but i was fixing the headlight which had a small block of wood holding it in place which i remove but when i went to drive the car it cut out after trying to restart it for a bit and looking over it i seen a bit of wood in the timing belt pullys as it got no cover i remove it and the car started and i drove it for a few yards but it never seem right i took another look and notice the belt was lose i tighten the tensioner wheel the car starts and run but it dont run smooth like it did can some help i dont know what i can do

were did u buy the car from private or dealer

you have very likely set the timing out, do not run it! or bye-bye to your valves!
You need to get the belt timed up and you'll find it running normal again- unless there is already damage!

+1, get a new belt the other one will be damaged (not visibly) and get someone who knows what they are doing to fit and time her up again. Also get a cambelt cover mate to stop it happening again.
