Ok, at the moment i dont have a spair wheel in the casing (under the boot) so theres no weight pushing down on it. Therefore the pin thingy makes an anoying as fuck noise when going over bumps as it rattles up and down so much.
What can i do to stop this? I dont want to take it out beacuse at some point i'll be geting a 15" steelie for it from the scrappy.
Many thanks, Lloyd.

Remove the cage completely. Should be a small nut on one side of the cage. undo it to remove one side. then fiddle it out the other end.

Cable tie or some string around the hook and cage then shit loads of duct tape on the top of the bolt to the boot floor.

I removed mine, isn't required for an MOT so useless added weight to the car imo, I just bung it in the back for long trips, got full breakdown cover in any case. Mine was loose and making noises and it was because of the bolt that is just under the carpet in the boot had been stretched and would not tighten up. Remove imo, 5 minute job if that....

Hi,
To fix this just tighten the nut a bit more in the boot which will raise the cage enough to miss the speed bumps.
I always keep my spare tire in the boot anyway because its such a pain unlocking the cage all the time.
