hi,
i had a member off here pay 30£ deposit for a phone and then a day later he paid another 110£ into my paypal account, i transfered them to my bank account and then the member collected the phone... it now seems that only the 30£ has gone into my account and the remaining 110 has been reversed..
what will be likely to happen?
Cheers

You won't have proof of postage (as there was no posting involved right?)
What's worse is, that guy knew when he came and picked it up, he was lieing to your face, and knew full well what he was gonna do when he got home.
If you can find any proof he picked it up, then maybe you'll win the chargeback.
Go here for help, also contact eBay, did you have "pick up" listed as a accepeted method?

Does the buyer have an address on his paypal? I'd pay him a visit, you've just been mugged off.

You've been mugged. Should of gotten him to pay the full amount imo as they can say they sent you £30 for the phone, then sent you another £110 for something else but didn't receive item for second payment.

paypal is great for scammers.
Why people can gtf if they want to pay for items of mine on teabay etc... with it.
if collecting, cash on collection only, or you will just be given a steaming poo in a box

Yeah, I hate that, but you HAVE to register with it to use eBay, and unless you wanna wait for a cheque (2 days to post, 5 to cash?)/cash on collection, you have no choice. (I don't think you can just have "pay with credit card" can you?).
I understand there is in some senses a lot of protection, but also a lot of room for exploitation by people who abuse the system (including PayPal themselves).

Credit card is worse, as they can cancel/return the card transaction.
I looked into it as I had to take a gaypal payment for some camera gear as it was a rush to get it sold and no other fooker was willing to pay within £50 of the asking price.
Paypal is utterly shit. I just post in the ebay listing cash on collection only or BT. Gaypal will be refunded as isnt accepted by me.
should hae got a pic of the twat with the phone as proof,
if i think im gona get riped off i will transfer the cash to my g/f's paypall and close mine down, better to be safe than ripped off, have done this a few times now.

Contact the buyer in the first instance, I've had this happen many-a-time recently due to PayPal's new security measures.
They see anything totaling over 90 pounds as a risk, therefore return / hold the money, then dispute both cases untill it's been reviewed by PayPal.
Which is most cases goes back to the original sender.
It is totally frigging useless, I had closed the business PayPal account last week and have now just re-opened a personal account as I required it for some payments to be sent to me, fingers crossed they actually stay in my account or I will be rather pissed off.

well i spoke to paypal anyway... they said if it doesnt go through to contact police as its fraud... also i have many witnesses of collected (even though this might not change nothing) i also have emails/messages about it and i also have his address and details so not like if he does do me over nothing will not happen...
