I've had 7!!!
got to lok for rust round fuel filler cap, bottom of windscreen, sills and rear arches.
gear linkages become sloppy,
T2 turbo is a weak point and should be replaced with a T3.
bottom arms and drop links fail.
91 is the 1 to go for,it has an ofac ecu which is better than the earlier ofab 1.
now for the good bits...
handle really well.
feel really nice with quickshift fitted.
T3 plus beige injectors and a chip gives around 200bhp at 16 psi which believe me is fun!!!
if you can find a good 1 get 1, they have a good following

There's meant to only be about 200 or so left in the UK, not many people are selling them now, best suggestion would be to go look at the http://fiestaturbo.com or http://passionford.com for people selling them, for a real good quality one your looking around 3k+

very nice cars youth, well recomended. the extra thing I would advise you on, apart from the things others have already mentioned, would be the cooling. when ford fitted the CVH to the fiesta, the engine bay is more cramped than the escort, so if your pushing around 200 bhp you will defo need a front mount intercooler.
the CVH is an awsome engine provided its been looked after so check the colour of oil and the conditions around the gasket and make sure no blue smoke or knocking, but he body condition is a more important issue, check for rust as previously mentioned.
f*****g awsome fun car!!!!!
ps - get it rolling road tested to check for running lean too

Don't forget to add tappets, the tappets in these are probably one of the most common things to go if its pushed too much, I had to replace all mine and the rocker arms, that cost a wodge.

Do your homework on what to look out for turbo wise so your know if a turbo is on its last legs, check your insurance to check you can afford to insure it if you find the right one and when you do go to look at one, make sure there is plenty of bills for any work and if possible phone up and see if they know of the car depending on the amount of work done.
Id love a Escort RS Turbo and with some money tucked away I could afford one but to be honest they are a little too old now for daily drivers as far too many have too much work done to them to be reliable car without becoming money pits. There are still good ones out there as Im sure the lad who had 7 will know but Im sure he'll tell ya your have to look at 10 bad ones to find 1 goodern
