just been out for the second time to fit my new race system. ordered the fitting kit with it the first time round got it all bolted together with no problems went to drive off bang. wtf so looks under the car and the two spacer/washer things that you need as suspersrint make the bolt holes 10mm to wide for some fucked up reason had pulled right through the holes. so though right ok must have had the sring bolts too tight. ordered a new fitting kit arrived today went to fit it purposly didnt fully tighten the bolts reveres out of the garage went pull forward BANG. AGGGHHH fuck sake the same thing happened again so fuck the spring bolts and these stupid filler washers next time round its getting normal bolts and fucking washers. why cant manufactures make thing as close to the original spec as possible all it needs is a smaller hole drilled in the flange it cant be that much of a fucking hassle. :wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::w all::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wal l::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall: :wall::wall:

rant over sorry for the big read but its been driving me nuts.

you need springs in the system to allow that join to flex as the motor runs

what i do is a long m8 bolt and some big washers with nyloc m8 nuts to hold it all together
both my cars are like it and theyve not broke yet lol!

its not the botls that snap its the small filler washers that you put in the centre section flange to fill the huge hole that supersrint have in it. i will prob do that then alex with the m8 bolt.

If you dont use the springs the exhaust will snap.

The engine rocks forwards and backwards under acceleration.

i bodged mine with washers not springs and it was fine:S

the key word in your post chris is bodge

the springs are a nessecary part in the way the join works (it allows flex whilst staying seaed as the springs put pressure on it) by removing the spring you dont let it flex properly and the exhaust could crack

as i said get rid of the cup washer shit and just run a proper bolt and it seems fine

if needed ill get pics of how i do mine tomorrow

the standard pipe has those deep washer things in as well...but they are just all rusted in, so looks like part of the pipe....but i fitted mine fine, some long bolts and nuts, springs and the washer things...

we have got a new supplier for the bolts and it looks like the hole is slightly smaller so a better fit.
I will send a new set to you if you can pm your name so I can call up your address :D. They do not need to be massively tightened though. haynes probably has it at 4 nm.

when fitting mine i fit it and thought thought will jus go and do up the bolts a lil tighter and then ping!!!! one of the o/e bolts snapped i was like noooo shot to the nearest garage with the bolt and got a new one but it jus seems like when you tighten the bolts with the springs they are very very tight and where do you get the m8 bolts from?
