hi i have an x reg saxo furio 1.4 need to change the driveshaft but been told there are two types of driveshaft with different types of ends what type should mine be

Likelyhood is yours has the tapered end. There is always exceptions to the rules of when the tapered shafts were introduced so I cannot 100% backup what I have said. But that is the general rule.

You can check whether you have the long or short threaded bars by removing a wheel (or hub cap if you have steelies) and seeing how long your hub nut is.

You won't be able to tell whether it is tapered or not without removing it.

As well as the tapered and the flat edges the threads are also different lengths, so that's just something else to keep in mind.

If i was a betting man I'd say tapered with long thread (wider nut)
