Are there different models of vtrs?

I've got a 52 plate mk2 vtr, and my friend has a W reg mk2 vtr, and there are a few differences.

the main one is the tax:

Renewing my tax next week 52 plate (mark 2) £150 for a year.

mines £190 a year on my mk2 vtr! its a v reg and renewing mine end of month.

also, there are design differences too, like the gear knob is different, and the W reg front indicators have orange plastic, where as the 52 plate has orange bulbs and clear plastic

there are a few more things like that too

as for the indicators, i have a mk1 and it has clear side ones, but a few mk2's have orange :s

early mark2's are same as mk1 engine, interiors also diffrent

2001 onwards they changed a few things for emmissions where as the w was pre emmissions
