Right, I know i said i hate dogs as there too much work to look after, taking them for a walk.

Cut the story short, mother bought a Yorkshire Terrier from a lady in the pet shop. The pup is only 9 weeks old. Already it knows its name "bobby" and the command SIT!

Parents are fed up with it lol, its too excited and said there giving it 3 weeks to get its arse sorted and to obay commands otherwise its going.

I've fallen in love with him lol :homme:. Cute little face and he really likes me. I want to get him trained up so he poo's in his poo tray instead of on the floor and to not bite your fingers (not biting, but got a firm grip)

Any hints.

Intranznet says prime time is the first couple of weeks to train them up.

Whats the best way to stop him nibbleing your feet? Ignore him? Tell him NO and give him a little smack?

Ideas :fcuk:

Tell him not to
Swift tap to the snout
"Good boy" if he does well..

Yes, i thoght that was the general punishment, but wern't sure.

We're trying to tell him to STAY, but he finds the cat biscuits more entertaining.

Stamp on it's head every time it bites your toes. It will soon stop, trust me

Yer, he'll only do it the once.

As his so small, when he runs off after told to 'Stay' i lift him up, to carry him back to where he set off from. Should i point and give him a tap on the nose and say BACK or would that confuse him?

Hounds!

From Left, Bounty (bitch) Buster (16 months) Bouncer (13 months)

Yes their names are total confusion and since Bounty came along she's just constantly widning the older ones up so everything we'd taught them has gone out the fucking window!!

Go to dog training classes, will be somewhere near you that does group classes for like a fiver, people can't expect a dog to learn what to do all on it's own :D

p.s good on your for taking him on even tho you didnt likes dogs in the first place he might be one of the lucky dogs that keeps his home

Sure thats a real dog?

We bought this book (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dog-Training-Dummies-Jack-Volhard/dp/0764584189/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1248251506&sr=8-2) when we got our dog. If funds are low get it out from library. Its pretty good, we had never had a dog before. There is also lots of useful info on the net, google "dog training"

You want a handfull? Try looking after these buggers:

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee173/thwaites04/DSCF1786.jpg

Some breed of alsation (grandads puppys) All males and a right handfull. The middle one giving a dodgy look is huge for a puppy! Nicknamed him gizmo but he's a tubby fucker. He's also got an adult long haired alsation, a st bernard and the best lurcher ive seen in my life. She hunts rabbits and deer and is sooo quick!

they are beautiful, dont like small dogs tbh as a rule as they do tend to nip your ankle as it is always acceptable because of their size!!!!! try getting away with it if you have a huge dog lol. As for stopping them biting you, i was always a fan of a water spray bottle, if it bites then a swift spray and NO should work. The water will not harm the puppy but with shock it and after a few times will deffinetly get the message. Also puppy classes, i went to a 6 week course and it cost £60, didnt like the trainer ( she was a real bitch!!!!) but it is great for puppy socialisation. Hope this helps

Firstly the rant: How very irresponsible of your parents to 'impulse buy' a puppy!! Did they not think it through at all?!?!? To say they're gonna sod it off if it's not trained in 3 weeks is plain stupid. You're not gonna be able to fully train such a young pup in that time...and to pass him from pillar to post at that age will be very distressing for him!!! Grrrrrrrrr!!

Anywaaaaaay....when our Ed was a pup he loved to chew things...including our hands, carpets, furniture etc. We would replace what he was chewing with something we wanted him to chew. Keep plenty of chew toys/puppy bones etc around. He also had a habit of chasing my feet thinking it was a game! I used the hold him down/spray water whilst telling him 'NO' technique. Get yourself a good training book tbh. If you perserve with training and be consistent you will be hugely rewarded. Don't fall into any bad habits as dogs always pick up on them and take advantage forevermore!
xx

Ps) He is a cutie!! ;)
