The vts appears to have a misfire, its just had a new head gasket and i beleive it was compression tested which came back fine. I think its a sensor causing it but not sure which one if any. Has anyone had this problem before?
The misfire is permanant and happens all through the rev range the car seems to have no power at all.
Thanks for any help guys.

Right when head gasket was done, did you have new plugs? and was the timing put back fine???
Is the engine management light on?- i'd start with the little things like plugs and coilback...
I had this problem... checked EVERYTHING, eventually turned out to be injectors on my vts..... :S
Have they been cleaned on your head change?

prob the coil pack ant , ryans car was the same. best thing do is find somebody with a vts and ask them to try there coil pack on yours..

Coilpack was already checked guys. No engine management, and the head gasket was done by previous owner so i know it was done properly.

right, check the spark plugs... clean them up or easier still .... get some new ones...
Then if this fails check the injectors and give them a clean or replace...
Then you need to start thinking outside the box... crankshaft sensor? Air flow sensor? but these usually come up on the light.... :S
Is it running so luppy to make you think timing has slipped a tooth? or dropped a valve possibly.....
Unfrtunatly the the problem possibility could be endless... but you will find it by process of elimination :)

Diagnostics doesnt show anything. Dont think its the coil pack as this was tested by previous owner. have a feeling its the injectors.
